COASTAL GEOMORPHOLOGIST
Physical Geography

I got my PhD in Environmental Science from the University of Ulster (UK), and my research interest include coastal morphodynamics and combines numerical modeling for wave propagation simulations with various geomatic and remote sensing techniques for bathymetric and altimetry surveying. As well as coastal geomorphology, I have extensive experience in the development of concepts for Integrated Coastal Zone Management – mainly in resilience and vulnerability analyses-. To date I am author of over 75 research publications and have participated in more than 15 European and national research projects, combining the above interest with new developments in the fields of Geographic Information Sciences, interoperable mapping and spatial data infrastructures. As a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Physical Geography Unit I am involved in teaching in Environmental Sciences, Geography and Humanities.
