Coastal Environments Research Group of Pablo de Olavide University (RNM 911) is actively participating in IX Jornadas Geomorfología Litoral, which has been taking place since September 13 in Menorca. During the second day of the congress, Dr. Macarena Tejada, who is member of this group, offered a presentation to the participants about the Coastal Management and Morphology of the Rocky Coast. Tejada has spoken about a case study of the coast of the Sea of Tuyú: Gestión costera, una solución que no siempre llega a tiempo. Estudio de caso en la costa de Mar del Tuyú, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
During this second day, José Luis del Río Anguita will participate with Dr. Gonzalo Malvarez around the anthropic impacts in coastal areas with a presentation entitled La acumulación de sedimentos en los embalses. Gestión e impacto en la evolución geomorfológica costera: el caso del embalse de La Concepción en Marbella, Costa del Sol.
Coastal Environments Research Group was the organiser of the previous meeting in Costa del Sol (Andalusia). Dr. Fatima Navas, Dr. Gonzalo Malvarez and Dr. Macarena Tejada are members of congress scientific committee. Since 2000 and every two years, the scientific community focused on Coastal Geomorphology, under the umbrella of the Sociedad Española de Geomorfología (SEG) and the Sociedad Geológica de España (SGE), is meeting with the aim of sharing their knowledge advances and to know -throw field trips- study cases, technical advances and experiences in coastal management.
